BUSY PATROLS ON CHRISTMAS DAY, OR JUST TOO MUCH CHRISTMAS LUNCH?
With an overcast cool day, patrollers had an easy day on the beach. Christmas was celebrated by patrollers, family and friends who shared a Christmas Lunch in the Club House. Thank you to all patrollers who volunteered for the day.
CENTENNIAL PLAQUE PRESENTATION TATHRA
At the Wharf to Waves Weekend, Local MP, Andrew Constance, presented the Club with a Commemorative Plaque for 100 years of Life Saving Service to the Community. Our Treasurer, Fran Elliott, accepted it on behalf of the Club. Fran is part of a busy team, organizing a weekend of events for current and past members to celebrate our 100 years. Events will be held over the ANZAC weekend in April, so keep that weekend free. Details will be on our website shortly and invitations to members will be sent out when finalized. If you know of any past members who reside locally or have moved interstate, please let them know, or alternatively send us an email and we will send them an invitation.
WHARF TO WAVES WEEKEND CONTINUES TO GROW
The weekend was a great success with even more entrants in the swims and the bike ride again this year. A big thank you from the Organising Committee to all the volunteers from the Surf Club who gave up their weekend to help with all events. A particular mention to patrollers who did water safety as the sea temperature was not the warmest this year. Also a special thanks to our invited guests, Ed Barlow and Henry Playfair from the Swans, who braved the cold water and took the plunge. By all accounts a great weekend which has once again raised considerable funds for our Club and the Pre-School.
